James In Digital is James Schumacher, a digital artist and freelance writer. I write reviews of movies, video games, music, books and anything else that strikes me, though the game industry is my focus.

I am a resident of Clackamas, Oregon a few miles south and east of Portland.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in the area of Game Art and Design.  This means I have both technological and artistic training, primarily in 3D and Graphic Design software.  I currently work freelance as a blogger/article writer, usually covering the fields of Gaming, Film, Books and Television.  I also have a job working as a simple web designer/graphic designer and content writer at an internet marketing firm where I primarily work with Photoshop and WordPress.

I have a lifelong interest in all the areas I write about.  As early as 4 and 5 I had my parents purchase me records to listen to in all kinds of genres.  To this day I can find music in almost any style that I like.  The same goes for films and games.  I watch foreign films, from European art house to Hong Kong action cinema and manage to force myself to watch a majority of the Hollywood blockbusters; even enjoying my fair share.  I play games on both console and PC in a variety of styles from the “hardcore” to the casual.

When it comes to Literature I read classic Poetry from the likes of Milton and Dante, biographies, fantasy and crime/detective works.  I have recently taken up going back and reading the classics that I have missed.

I love the Pacific Northwest and it’s beautiful scenery.  I don’t get to travel out of state very often, so I enjoy spending time on the scenic and historic Oregon Coast.
