Saints Row – The Third Soundtrack List
Just started playing Saints Row 3 aka Saints Row the Third and this game is simply pure ridiculous fun. Though the Saints Row soundtrack is not as ambitious in scope as the Grand Theft Auto series, the musical selection is still impressive and varied. Saints Row as a series has always done it’s own thing and I appreciate that. Of particular note is the nice 80s and 90s selection which makes up the bulk of my “Mix-Tape”, the games way … Continue reading

Batman – Arkham City Original Video Game Score
Batman – Arkham City is impressive on many levels. Like I mentioned in my initial impressions of the game everything in the game is top-notch and improved over the already great Arkham Asylum. The game garnered enough attention to earn itself a bigger budget, both for the game and it’s marketing. Because of this, the Batman Arkham City Soundtrack features some big-time names from modern radio. Now for some of us, that time of music and/or those bands aren’t our … Continue reading

Batman Arkham City – Initial Impressions
Arkham City Impressions I spent a few hours with Arkham City this evening. I have to say that I can definitely see where all the positive hype is coming from. As I discussed in the preview article, Arkham Asylum was a bit of a surprise. There wasn’t much to complain about with the first game and from my initial play-time it feels as though they have been able to improve on virtually everything somehow. I made the brash decision to … Continue reading

Game Releases Fall 2011 – Batman Arkham City
Batman Arkham Asylum was, to say the least, a surprise smash hit, earning a lot of Game of the Year praise in 2009. Comic book games have a spotty history, particularly outside of the arcade, and Batman games in the past never strayed from that trend with many of them being downright awful. Arkham Asylum combined stealth along with action-adventure elements, true to the Dark Knight’s style. The story was quality (thanks to veteran writer Paul Dini), and the mechanics … Continue reading

Top 10 Scary Videogames for Halloween
Well it’s that time of year again, the smell of fall is in the air, the leaves are beginning their slow change and Halloween rapidly approaches. Time for scary movies to start showing on television. If you’re like me, you’ve got your favorites; ones that need to be watched each year. Mine include Evil Dead 1/2, Hellraiser and Young Frankenstein (not scary but awesome nonetheless). Over the years, gamers have gotten quite a few scares, so why not also break … Continue reading
Batman – Arkham City Soundtrack
Batman – Arkham City is one of my most anticipated titles of this year, which is saying a lot. Arkham Asylum was quite the surprise hit, in that it was a comic book property done well in game form. Cash-in comic book games, like most films or book to game properties are usually poor to say the least. Arkham Asylum changed that with a good storyline, excellent graphics and a beautiful, flowing, yet simple to execute combat system. Arkham City … Continue reading

Recent Gaming Roundup – Juarez, F.E.A.R. 3, Catherine
Hearing the Call The Call of Juarez features a spiritual-successor storyline to the original games. One of the main characters, and if we’re honest the focal point of the game, is Ben McCall, ancient ancestor to the Reverend Ray McCall, gun-toting preacher from the previous two games. That’s kind of where the connection stops. There are dialogue references and even scenes that are supposed to take place in locations from the original games. It’s a weak call-back at most. McCall’s … Continue reading
