Day 1 of Under a Killing Moon finds Tex desperate to find some work and get his life moving again. The day starts off poorly though with thoughts of his ex-wife and loss of his 
most prized possession, his gun.
Tex learns for Chelsea Bando at the Newstand that local pawnshop owner Rook Garner has had a break-in. Tex is immediately on the case. With some detective work thanks to a local informant, a chocoholic and an old police force nemesis, Tex pins one Mick Flemm as the likely culprit in the pawn shop robbery and possibly tied to the disappearance of novely shop owner Rusty the Clown.
Tex sets a trap for Mick which may just solve the case.
