James Schumacher – LinkedIn

Hello, my name is James Schumacher, a Pacific Northwest-based Writer and Artist. You can sometimes find me under my online moniker: JamesInDigital. And you can currently hire me for various part-time or full-time work.

Previous Work

I have been writing and creating content for the web for more than ten years. Working at a digital marketing agency I served as the lead for web content, writing, editing and proofreading optimized blogs, press released and social media postings for a variety of clients. I also spent time as the digital lead for a small but profitable local, Oregon-based mortgage loan company, where I created and managed all of their web content.

Beginning in December 2014 I became the lead reviewer for Only Single Player, a site dedicated to content on single-player focused gaming. I currently continue to write for that site on a freelance basis.

From 2008 to the present I have written about and promoted various gaming, film, literature and music related content on this personal site. However, it mostly serves as a second home for the video content I create for Youtube.

Who and Where

I am a resident of Clackamas, Oregon a few miles south and east of Portland. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in the area of Game Art and Design. This means I have both technological and artistic training, primarily in 3D and Graphic Design software. I currently work as a freelance writer and editor.

I have a lifelong interest in all the areas I write about. As early as the age 5, I had my parents purchase records for me to listen to. To this day I can find music in almost any genre that I like. The same goes for films and games. I watch foreign films, from European art house to Hong Kong action cinema and manage to force myself to watch a majority of the Hollywood blockbusters; even enjoying my fair share. I play games on both console and PC in a variety of styles from the “hardcore” to the casual.

When it comes to Literature I read classic Poetry from the likes of Milton and Dante, biographies, fantasy and crime/detective works. I have recently taken up going back and reading the classics that I have missed.

Having an interest in photography, living in the Pacific Northwest is fantastic for it’s beautiful scenery. I don’t get to travel out of state very often, so I enjoy spending time on the scenic and historic Oregon Coast.

Hire Me

I’m available for freelance or full-time work now. I can write on a variety of topics or provide you with image/photo editing and enhancement. I am also open to joining staff full-time. My hourly rate generally boils down to a minimum $25/hr depending on length and complexity. However, each project is unique, and work is catered to the parameters therein. Photoshop work is always dependent on the scope and possible revisions.
