Artyom narrowly escapes the first portion of the marshes, something large, from the water
pursues him somewhere behind. It is fully dark now and the cries of ghosts and the mutants in the dark have him moving cautiously towards the church in the distance. As Artyom nears his goal, his pursuer final catches him, with no escape and low on ammunition.
