Curse of Monkey Island Intro James Schumacher, April 5, 2013April 7, 2013 Curse of Monkey Island was the 3rd entry in the Monkey Island series and was a radical departure visually from the first two games. Though under the hood this is still a SCUMM engine game, in fact that last one before LucasArts switched to GrimE for Grim Fandango and Escape from Monkey Island. The game somehow continues the story after the end of Monkey Island 2 LeChuck’s Revenge (No Spoilers Here), and finds Guybrush adrift on a bumper car at sea, writing in his journal a remembering the events that brought him there. It’s not long before Elaine and LeChuck pop into the picture in the middle of epic cannon-battle siege.
