A somewhat brief (10 min) history of the XCOM franchise, beginning with the classic 
original game and the downhill slide of the IP from here. Luckily the series is back in some good hands (at least on the tactical side) with XCOM Enemy Unknown coming shortly. I love the original, and I don’t mind Terror from the Deep, though it is ridiculously difficult and I never quite finished it. The other entries were not so good and there have been many knock-offs based on the original that never quite made it. Check the link above for the video.
