Just spent about an hour and half playing the Uncharted 3 multiplayer via a promotion from Subway… yes that Subway, Jared and all that.  Note that this is different that the multiplayer beta a little while back.  This appears to be a much more polished and faster-loading version of the game, which makes sense as we are one month away from the UC3 launch date.

Uncharted 3 Promotion

So here’s how you get in on the action.  The simplest way to purchase a 30 oz soda from Subway and make sure that it has the Uncharted 3 graphics on it.  I believe the 30 oz costs just shy of $2.00.  On this cup there will be a code which can be entered on Subway.com to [amazon_link id=”B004EQCCI4″ target=”_blank” ]Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception[/amazon_link] unlock various things for the game.  Of course if you’re interested in getting to play multiplayer for a whole month ahead of release, you’ll want to choose to unlock that first.  It will then supply you with a PSN code which you can enter under your Account settings.  The download is just over 3 1/2 gigs and of course depending on your connection and how well PSN wants to work that day, you could have the game up and running pretty quickly or have to wait 3 hours… good luck.

The great thing about this promotion is that everything you earn while experiencing the many multiplayer modes is supposed to transfer over to the full game when on launch. That means you could be maxed out in time to kick ass on day one.  I say could, just be aware that right after popping on to the network I had 4 players in a team deathmatch mode at Level 35 already, and the leaderboards are full of Level 35 players.  Where the hell do they find the time to have played this much already? There are supposed to be additional codes in the future on packs of cheddar Sun Chips and the sandwich wrappers themselves though I saw none.  The codes there can help you unlock a couple kickback items for the game, things for PSN Home as well as earn you entries in a sweepstakes.  Will update with prizes soon. Not sure how I feel about this Subway promotion, but I’m playing part of the game a month early so… eh…
